High iron ore can only be obtained by players of a certain level (1525) or with a certain blacksmithing skill (one point into the first passive). Most players have maxed out blacksmithing so they get rubedite, or they haven't worked on it at all so they get iron. To know if your price is fair, look at other ores (except rubedite).

Of all the places to farm rubedite in the game, Old Orsinium would not be in the top half of places I would pick. Hides I can definitely see with all the harpies and bears in the first part of the dungeon ... not sure if the OP is trying to steer the conversation away from this farming spot by injecting rubedite into the reply posts.

In most instances, refining will get you more in value than selling. Where it's better to sell the raw is platinum dust, rubedite ore, ruby ash, and some of the level 1 mats.

Yes I just reached 160 cp. I don't have materials because I was a vet level 7 pve player and I was not in the area where voidstone or rubedite were. I've been crafting sets for other players using my materials and helping others level up starter characters in the game. Rubedite ore is 20k per 200, and I'm not a sorcerer, I'm a healer.

The best places to grind for experience points in ESO are public dungeons. While you can still earn a lot of experience points by grinding on mobs outside of dungeons, these locations don't offer the same high XP rewards as public dungeons do. Public dungeons have a very generous amount of enemies and provide very good loot drops.

So if you are CP 160 but never put skill points in, you'll get 50% rubedite ore and 50% iron ore. All zones have approx. the same amount of resource nodes, but because the starter islands are smaller zones, the nodes appear very dense compared to other base game zones or especially a larger zone like Morrowind where nodes are much more spread out.

I just farm it in the wild. I max out my cp craft tree to get double mat drops and I regularly do mat hunting. I have literally thousands of platinum ounces built up. It adds up over time. Remember that metal ore nodes also drop some raw platinum regularly.

False. You have higher chances of Rubedite ore, and will see it more often in different zones, but you can easily find iron or high iron too. I think it is definitely meant to be a slow grind, i can spend and hour farming cloth exclusively and come away with a stack of void cloth and only 2030 unrefined silk. Little bit frustrating but i understand the reasoning. I farm a bit, decon from dungeons and questing, but i ended up getting over it and bought the rest.

Incorrect. Half of nodes are based on character/champion level, half of nodes are based on skill point investment in the first crafting passive for that line. A level 50 character with 10/10 in the metalworking passive on an account with >= 160 champion points will always see rubedite ore.
